My Event DJ is an initiative created by the founder Chris Taucher. Chris started DJing for a mobile DJ company when he was 17, being attracted to the industry because of the technology that was being released at the time. He mainly assisted with School Balls and School Ball After Parties in Hamilton and the greater Waikato. His mentor at the time trained him to learn music so when the time came Chris was able to read a crowd and know exactly what song to play next. He became an open format DJ for this company for many years progressing through to being one of the requested DJs at many events from Weddings, School Balls, Birthday Parties and Corporate events. When Chris turned 18 he started putting the feels out to nightclubs and was snapped up by The Outback Inn in Hamilton. This is where Chris learned the technical side of DJing, learning how to beat match and mix in key. He has now been in the hospitality industry for many years in Hamilton, Auckland and Tauranga while still DJing privately at Weddings & School Balls. With over 12 years experience in both the mobile and hospitality industry Chris has become one of the most sought after DJs whether it be for a Wedding, or your next club night – he also has a tonne of experience in event management. He has now decided to take it upon himself to create My Event DJ to provide DJ hire services that appeals to the millennials of today. He is the main DJ of our company however we have a selection of other talented DJs for hire. We provide ourselves in providing top notch DJ services to Auckland, Hamilton and the wider North Island, New Zealand region.
